Healing Rooms Kids

Children praying for people, with adults alongside

A global equipping ministry of adults leading kids' prayer teams.

Founded in Madisonville, Kentucky in 2011. The ministry has its own home, and this page points the way there.

What it is

Kids gather together to pray for the sick expecting them to recover, to hear God, to grow as believers, and to learn to trust Holy Spirit.

It began at Main Street Prayer Center in 2011 with one team on Tuesday afternoons. Today Healing Rooms Kids equips adults who lead teams in their own churches and cities, in the United States and beyond.

People of every age come for prayer. A team of children prays, with a trained adult beside them.

We believe kids are already deeply spiritual, and when they're discipled alongside trusted adults, they can grow in prayer without pressure or performance.

How it is done

  • Safety firstTrained adults lead every team and are present for every prayer. No child ever ministers alone.
  • Adults cover, children prayThe adults carry the responsibility. The children do what children do well: pray simply and expect an answer.
  • Parents are part of itEnrollment and training happen through the ministry directly, with parents. No child's name or details are collected on this site.

What the children hear

Every week the kids take time to draw or write what they are hearing from God. This is some of their work.

Shared by Healing Rooms Kids. No child is named anywhere in this work.

Who it is for

Pastors and children's ministry leaders who want to start a prayer team and need a proven way to do it safely.

Parents and grandparents who have watched a child pray and wondered what might happen if someone took that seriously.

Anyone who wants prayer. The teams pray for whoever comes.

This page is only the introduction. Training, team resources, the HRK Leadership Academy Community, and how to connect all live on the ministry's own site.

Ten years of Tuesdays, written down

Barbie was in the room for the prayers, and she kept a record of what she saw and heard. Sixty of those stories became her book, Never Too Little to Pray, gathered under the fruit of the Spirit.

If you lead children, or hope to, the stories show what this looks like in practice better than any description can.
